I know it’s a little late but I just wanted to say congrats to the Miami Heat on their 3rd NBA Championship and the 1st back-to-back. LeBron James is one of my favorite players right now so of course I’m excited about that. But I’m really happy for guys like Ray Allen, Rashard Lewis, and who could forget Chris Anderson aka “Birdman”. These guys chose to join the Miami Heat for one reason and that goal was accomplished when the final buzzed went off. All the hard work during the offseason and during the season paid off. Congratulations again to the 2012-2013 NBA Champions Miami Heat.
Mike Armstrong participated in the Doernbecher Freestyle program in 2007 while he recovered from a surgery to replace a valve in his heart. With a brother in Iraq and a huge patriotic streak, the fifteen-year-old had no trouble picking the theme for his signature stars-and-stripes Air Max 95. The blue, red and white upper is full of personal touches from Mike’s life, highlighted by the lasered words on the upper that chronicle his life and a personal logo with a heart, cross and wings. As for Mike, now 22, he’s still the same easy-going guy with a heart that’s going strong. He went on to receive his degree in Automotive Technology, and today spends his time enjoying the great outdoors and building very fast cars. Look for Mike Armstrong’s limited edition Air Max 95 on July 6 at Nike.com and in Nike retail locations across the United States. All proceeds benefit the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital Foundation and the young patients who need it most.

This past weekend the very popular shoe event known as “Sneaker Con” was held in Atlanta, GA. This was only the second time the event has been held in Atlanta, but this was my first time hearing of the event at a location that was very close to me. Anybody who knows me, knows my love for sneakers. When I heard that this event was going to be in Atlanta, I make sure to put it on my calendar right away so I could attend. When I arrived I was amazed at that the line to get in flowed almost the the whole side of the building and that wasn’t even the whole crowd. Most people stood by there cars until the doors opened. When we finally made it in, I just took everything in and began to take in the sites and capture every moment I could on my camera and smartphone. Shoe enthusiasts, collectors, sellers filled the room and as well as vendors from all over with their merchandise. I was able to see a few celebrities enter the building such as Bryan Michael Cox and fellow sneaker head Trinidad James. It was also good to meet other sneaker lovers like myself and network with people for other reason than shoes. Such as my photography. Below are just a few of the pictures I took. Hopefully I can catch the event in a few more locations this year.
Samsung just got its hands on the holy grail of hip-hop. Actually, it’s “Magna Carta Holy Grail,” the new album from rap icon Jay-Z that will be made available for free to the first 1 million Samsung Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4, and Galaxy Note 2 owners who download a special app. The app, which can be downloaded starting on June 24, is said to provide an “unprecedented inside look into the album personal stories and inspiration,” and will also unlock the new album on July 4, three days before it officially goes on sale for the non-Galaxy owning world.
Looks like Jay-Z has the people talking again. First his move to start Roc Nation Sports representing names like Skylar Diggins and Victor Ortiz. Now shocking everybody with this surprise album and having the help of some producers who you may have heard of before Pharell Williams, Swizz Beatz, Timbaland, and Rick Rubin. If that line up doesn’t get you excited then I don’t know what will. Oh yeah and last but not least he plans to drop it on July 4th, which happens to be my birthday lol! Enjoy the quick glimpse below.

Nike’s Roshe Run is such a versatile shoe. It seems as if any color will work. Nike comes proper once again with its “Arctic Green” rendition of the Roshe Run. The breathable mesh upper has been done up in Arctic Green with tonal laces accompanying it. White compliments this by being placed on the Swoosh branding, eyelets and midsole.
