NBA Playoffs 2013 – Conference Finals

Well the conference finals are finally set. The Western Conference Finals will include a tough Memphis Grizzlies team that is led by Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol. They’ll be going up against a young and wise San Antonio Spurs team led by veterans Tony Parker and Tim Duncan. I’m excited to see the series because you can never count the Spurs out but the toughness of the Grizzlies is unmatched by most.

The Eastern Conference Finals will include a Miami Heat team who have got in the same groove they were last year this time as they breezed through the playoffs to win the championship. The Heat are led by there big three LeBron James,  Chris Bosh, and Dwayne Wade. Even though Dwayne may not be 100% the heat have more than enough backup to pick up the slack with players like Norris Cole, Ray Allen, and who could (in my best shaq voice) Birdman, Birdman lol! The Heat will be going up against a young and surprising Indiana Pacers team. A determined team who have worked there way through the playoffs so far even without their superstar Danny Granger. I always considered the Pacers a sleeper team but after Granger was lost for the season I didn’t see them in the conference finals. With guys like Paul George, Lance Stephenson, and Roy Hibbert, who’s like a big man should. This should also be a interesting and physical series. A detailed view of the playoff tree is shown below.

Nike Air Max 1 “SMK”

Image

I’ve been thinking for a little while on starting a new section on my blog dedicated to customs (apparel and shoes). I kept putting it off because I really didn’t see too many that caught MY attention. Well that was until my cousin sent me a text of a shoe that he had designed on NikeID. The photo caused me to think even more on the section dedicated to customs. I told him to let me know when his final product comes in and he’ll be the first in the custom section. Yesterday the shoes finally arrived. The final product came out greeeeeeeat, lol.  The box has a pretty nice design on it as well. Below are more pictures of his Nike Air Max 1 “SMK” edition.

More Jordan Restocks

Well what do you know Jordan Brand is doing it again lol. On May 25, 2013, there is a massive restock that is going to shake things up a bit. Are you surprised? Me neither lol. I’ve only seen an official announcement for the thunder 4s, right now the other shoes pictured are still rumors right now.

Air Jordan IX “Black Bottom”

Yesterday on May 9, 2013 at 7pm, Nike released the “black bottom”  colorway of the Air Jordan IX. This shoe was first seen last year before the “photo blue” colorway was released. The story behind these are that these  were made by mistake. About 2000 pairs you read that right lol. The releasing of these are similar to the release of the “banned” Air Jordan Retro I. The release of these came out of no where but unlike the banned 1s. These only released on nikestore.com and retailed for $130. Where as the “banned 1s” made there way into outlets and if you were lucky enough to find them then you had a pair. There wasn’t alot of hype behind these maybe because of people hearing the term b-grades. Most people that are unfamiliar with the term think that it means fake in some way which is far from the truth. This only means that the shoe made didn’t match the product code. People would be surprised how many of their favorite shoes were b-grades lol.

Air Jordan V “Grape”

The Air Jordan V “Grape” is an original Air Jordan V colorway. The sneaker has only been retrod once which was in 2006. The “Grape” Air Jordan V colorway will be releasing tomorrow Saturday, May 4th, 2013 for $160. This colorway is my personal favorite of the all the Air Jordan V collection. I first saw the shoe on an episode of “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”. As soon as i saw it i wanted it. I wasn’t able get the shoe when it first because i was young and couldn’t afford to buy my own shoes. I was able to get them when they released in 2006 though with the help of a close friend of mine and a fellow SMK member. Since 2006 the hype that surrounds shoes now is through the roof and even thought that is one of the shoes that i wouldn’t mind having a second pair. I wouldn’t dare try unless i was guaranteed a pair. I can see the lines forming now. I hope everyone is safe and if you’re not able to get them at first just be patient like i was and when the hype dies down. I guarantee you’ll have a your pair.
