Reebok DMX Run 10

20130226-004820.jpg

The highly-anticipated reintroduction of the DMX Run 10 on March 1st will mark the first drop of Reebok Classic’s retro running series. The DMX Run 10 became the first shoe to debut Reebok’s proprietary moving air technology when it was released in 1997. The revolutionary technology found in DMX Run 10 would later be used as inspiration for Allen Iverson’s first signature model, the Answer I. Three OG colorways of the limited edition retro bring back (white/infinite blue/neon cherry/pure silver; thunder blue/Reebok brass/black/white pure silver; black/white/pure silver) will drop Friday, March 1st at Foot Locker, Finish Line, Champs, City Gear and Reebok.com for $120.

This is one release that I’m very excited to see make its way back. I remember sitting in class when my best friend walked with the gray/navy blue/lime green colorway and I just stopped. They were so dope to me and everybody else was like those ugly or those are really different. I’ve wanted those shoes every since. Hopefully I can get a pair of these since they hold some significance to me.

BHM Air Jordan 1 x Jordan Snapback Pack

20130225-201721.jpg

Jordan Brand has teamed up with trendy designer Don C to collaborate on a pair of the Air Jordan 1 and a Jordan snapback to celebrate the 37th Anniversary of Black History Month. Don C, who is best known for his unique treatments to sporty snapback hats, gives his spin on the Air Jordan 1 by implementing a traditional graphic on the upper, using a bright orange for the inner lining, and displaying his flair for the reptilian on the ankle strap. The snapback hat shows off Don C’s signature moves with the material used on the bill of the hat. Again, just thirty seven sets (the shoes and the hat) are available and up for auction, with all proceeds going directly to the Big Brothers Big Sisters Of America charity.

In my opinion this is the best shoe of the whole Black History Month collection this year. The designs represent Black History Month and the proceeds go to a great cause. Jordan Brand definitely got it right with this one.

Light chicken cordon bleu

20130214-214338.jpg

This is a dish that me and my other half decided to try for Valentine’s Day and it turned out great. I’m trying to work on my cooking skills so you have to start somewhere right, lol? This recipe came from the book shown below.

Ingredients:

8 boneless skinless chicken breast halves (4 ounces each)
1/2 teaspoon pepper
8 slices deli ham (1 ounce each)
1-1/2 cups (6 ounces) shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
2/3 cup fat-free milk
1 cup crushed cornflakes
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon salt

Sauce:
1 can (10-3/4 ounces) reduced-fat reduced-sodium condensed cream of chicken soup, undiluted
1/2 cup fat-free sour cream
1 teaspoon lemon juice

Directions:

  • Flatten chicken to 1/4-in. thickness. Sprinkle with pepper; place a ham slice and 3 tablespoons of cheese down the center of each piece. Roll up and tuck in ends; secure with toothpicks. Pour milk into a shallow bowl. In another bowl, combine the cornflakes, paprika, garlic powder and salt. Dip chicken in milk, then roll in crumbs.
  • Place in a 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish coated with cooking spray. Bake, uncovered, at 350 for 25-30 mins or until meat is no longer pink. Meanwhile in a small saucepan, whisk the soup, sour cream, lemon juice until blended; heat through. Discard toothpicks from chicken; serve with sauce.

Yield: 8 servings

The Ravens are the Champs!

“No weapon formed against us shall prosper”, if you watched the ravens playoff games this quote from the bible was constantly repeated by ravens linebacker Ray Lewis. With all of the drama, name calling, and even a 34 minute delay in the Super Bowl. nothing could get in the way of what the ravens set out to do from the time training camp started which was win the Super Bowl. To me it is truly sad how SOME of the media tries to throw out all the negative things and what I guess seems to be the right time for them but the wrong time in my opinion to try to get athletes off their game. Through all of that media mess that was going on I could picture Ray Lewis saying “no weapon formed against us shall prosper”.

Now to talk about the actual game itself. It seemed as if the Baltimore Ravens had the momentum from the kickoff. The defense was shutting down kapernick and the 49ers and they couldn’t get anything going. Then the new superstar known as Jacoby Jones took over. He picked up where he left off in the game against the broncos with a huge catch that eventually helped them win the game. He had a similar catch in the Super Bowl but he was touched when he fell so when he got up. He did a quick juke move that left on defender on his stomach and another defender stuck in his tracks. Soon after that play he did something most teams wouldn’t want there returners to do. He received a kick off from the back of the endzone and took off. Eleven seconds later he was crossing the goal line with record 109 yard return and finishing it off by doing the dance made so popular by Ray Lewis the “squirrel dance”. After a 34 minute delay in the game due to the lights going completely out on one side. The momentum seemed to shift. The 49ers came storming back and tied the game up. Even though the 49ers put up a good fight and it was a great game. The ravens still pulled out the win. There was no way the ravens would send their star player out with a lost. I’ll end this by saying what’s meant to be will be. Despite all the distractions that came their way. The Ravens still prevailed and are now the Super Bowl champs!

Apple Smart Shoes!!!!!!!!

I came across this article on www.nicekicks.com and I thought it was interesting.

Is Apple expanding beyond computers and music players into the footwear industry? Not exclusive to the late Steve Job’s iconic New Balance, Apple filed a patent for a sensor that would go in any sole and allow anyone’s “smart shoes” to alert them when they needed to replace their worn-out sneakers. The sensor, which would connect to your iOS device, would exist either as a thin layer built in to the sole or be located in the heel. The requested patent can be summarized in three main parts: a detector for sensing when the shoe wears out, a processor to measure the detector’s data, and an alarm for alerting the user when a shoe is no longer stable.

The patent states, “As a shoe wears, physical support provided by the shoe decreases, thereby reducing associated protection from injury. When a critical wear level is reached, even if the shoe looks like it is not particularly worn, the shoe may not provide adequate support and may, in fact, cause damage to feet.”

Also incorporated is a wireless interface, hinting that Apple might expand on Nike+’s activity measurements. Do you wear your sneakers enough to need one of Apple’s sensors? Not included are the Apple sneakers that were issued exclusively to company employees in the early 90′s, but would you ever rock full blown iKicks?

Super Bowl XLVll

superbowl49ersvsravens_web

The time has finally come for what most football fans have been waiting for all season. The Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers will square off in the 47th Super Bowl that will take place on Sunday, February 3, 2013.  To start of with, we are about to witness something that has never been done before. The two head coaches of both teams are brothers. John Harbaugh is the head coach for the Baltimore Ravens, and Jim Harbaugh is the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers. It has been pretty cool watching them in their interviews and definitely showed how they differ in their interview together. Both have very strong teams and it definitely looks like its going to be a great game. This also will be the last professional game of Ray Lewis career. I was always told growing up that if people are talking about you then you’re doing something right. We don’t need the media or other outsiders to prove that Ray is doing something right but with all big events there always has to be some distractions of some sort that the media tries to bring up. Being the strong man of god that he is, he answered all the questions strongly and continued to keep the focus on the task at hand. Even though he has said that he won’t be doing his famous pre-game dance for the superbowl. I’m still looking forward to the Ravens and the 49ers put on a great show.
